What happens in a career counselling session?

Which MINDSCAN assessment should go with it?
Counselling works best when it starts from evidence rather than from a blank page. Students in school or college start with the psychometric test for students, working people with the psychometric test for professionals, and women restarting work after a break with the psychometric test for mothers.

Common questions
Do I need to take a test before counselling?
No, but it helps. A session that starts from a 75-page report covering 14 skills, 10 interest areas and more than 20 career groups is a different conversation from one that starts from scratch.
Can the session be conducted in Hindi?
Yes. The assessment can be answered in Hindi, and the report, which is written in English, is explained to you in detail in Hindi.
How long does the whole thing take?
The assessment takes 75 minutes, online, from home, at a time that suits you. The counselling session follows once your report is ready.
Is online career counselling as good as meeting in person?
For this kind of work, yes. Nothing in the session depends on sitting in the same room: the report is on screen in front of both of you, and an online slot is far easier to find at a time when the whole family can be present. Sessions run across India, so where you live does not decide who advises you.
Who will I be speaking to?
A trained and certified MINDSCAN counsellor who has read your report before the call. Sessions for school and college students usually include the parents, because the decision rarely belongs to the student alone.
What do I walk away with?
A shortlist you believe in and the next step written down: the stream or role to aim at, the exams or skills it needs, and what to do about it in the coming month. Not a document to file away.
